Professional Development Program

One.

To give educators evidence-based strategies to use within the classroom to help students cope with stress, regulate their emotions, and enhance their wellness under difficult circumstances.

Two.

Educators would be provided an online workshop and be provided with resources for use in the classroom

Three.

Upon Completion of training, a certificate of completion or competency be issued to educators.

Four.

Institutions may Adopt training for the Educators as a policy.

Five.

These materials will employ innovative technology with the provision of interactive infographics that link to actual practice demonstrations. For contexts where the internet is not available descriptions will be provided. Thus, all contexts will be provided with both a list of strategies that link to videos/audios for practice as well as an alternate list of the strategies with complete descriptions to ensure those contexts without internet will have full information on the strategies.

Upon Completion of training, a certificate of completion or competency be issued to educators

This program is based on a curriculum that was developed, evaluated, and in use at McGill University, other universities in Canada as well as in the process adapted for use in Asia.

Eight.

This program focuses on supporting teachers to learn strategies that will help them deal with their own stress and coping as well as supporting their students' needs.

Nine.

The programs will be tailored based on the region in association with the World Youth Group affiliate or associate entities.

Ten.

This is a bottom-up process. This means the implementation starts from the academic level enabling teachers to develop programs suitable to students' culture and nature.

Eleven.

It will be monitored by the World Youth Group, particularly the Committee on SDG-3, from their regional offices. However, we make sure the programs have a generic nature.

Twelve.

This program is confident of enabling teachers and academic institutions as a resort for the youth too, who may or may not be a student, and seeks support. (* World Youth Group defines youth as 21-35 years of age, although this plan seeks to improve wellness in students of all ages.).

Thirteen

Extends its support to academic institutions, United Nations Member States and relevant UN Agencies and Departments, and Governments in its needful implementation.
